You already know what a regular bug out bag is, right?

It’s a bag stocked with emergency supplies in case you have to flee your home (or another location) quickly.

Most bug out bags include a water filter, fire starter, knife, gun, and a few other items.

But few people know anything about “Financial Bug Out Bags” – even though they’re crucial to your survival and safety.

You may believe your finances are tucked away safe and sound, but you’d be horribly mistaken.

Just listen to this:

According to a recent survey conducted by Bankrate.com, last year, over 41 Million Americans had their identity stolen.

These criminals will bleed your accounts dry, go on a spending spree with your cards and then vanish into the wind.

Sure, you may get some of your money back, but it could take weeks or months while the fraud is being investigated.

How long can you last without the funds in your bank account?

And it gets worse…

Because if you’ve got any kind of nest-egg, or even just a nice home, you’ve got a great big target on your back.

Predatory lawyers are just waiting to file a suit against you and get rich at your expense.

The horrifying reality is: Over 35 million lawsuits are filed every year.

That means you stand a one in eight chance of being sued in any given year.

Slimy, unethical lawyers call it “playing the lawsuit lottery,” and they file a blizzard of lawsuits (frivolous or not) in hopes that one sticks and they strike it rich.

See, they know that 95% of lawsuits get settled out of court, and at almost the same value they were seeking in the suit.

And, I probably don’t need to tell you about how many ways the government is trying to pick your pocket.

They’re always snooping around your finances looking for ways to rip more tax dollars out of you.

Sure, depending on the election cycle, you may get a breather…

But, the state-sponsored money grab is guaranteed to kick into high gear again sooner rather than later.

And if all that isn’t bad enough, here’s a question you may not have thought of that could have a disastrous impact on your financial situation:

What happens when your ID is lost in an emergency or natural disaster?

Well, ask my friend Greg, who had his house burn down two years ago and lost everything.

Ask him about the nightmare he went through to prove who he was (he didn’t have ID)…

Or the hours he spent getting new documents such as birth certificates.

An article in USA Today with the headline, “Katrina Victims Face Identity Crisis” gives a hint at some of the troubles you’ll face:

The article stated…

“Katrina washed away their homes, their personal belongings, and their livelihoods. It may have washed away their identities, too.

Birth certificates, marriage licenses, even drivers licenses, personal checks and credit cards were washed away in the storm. Without the usual means of identifying themselves, evacuees face another major obstacle to normalcy.”

And, a local newspaper in Texas – The Beaumont Enterprise – said of the recent flooding in Houston, “Replacing ID, documents lost in Harvey can be long process.”

My point is, since the world we live in is so unpredictable, you don’t only need a regular bug out bag…

You absolutely must have a Financial Bug Out Bag so that if something does happen, you can weather the storm and stay financially secure.

(And not have your family end up in some FEMA camp because you can’t prove your identity and get a real place.)

The good news is, putting together your financial bug out bag is easy and I’m going to tell you how to do it right now…

The first thing you need for your financial bug out bag is cash.

I recommend having one month’s living expenses in $20 bills.

Believe me, I realize that’s a lot of money and I don’t expect you to add it all at once.

But, here’s a simple way to begin pulling it together:

Starting today, add extra money each week to your bag until you build up to that one-month supply.

Next, you need to get yourself some silver coins – real silver coins.

I prefer American Silver Eagles since they’re widely recognized and accepted.

Depending on your financial situation, you may want $100 in Silver Eagles, $500, $1,000 or more.

Next, you need to get yourself some gold coins.

Obviously gold is more expensive than silver, but get what your financial means allow.

And, you want to invest in the actual gold itself, not gold stocks.
